How Much Do Wedding Flowers Cost in Santa Fe, New Mexico?

OMG you’re engaged! You’ve found that one special person who makes you laugh, who shares adventures with you, who supports you in good times and bad, loves the heck out of you, and who thinks the sun shines out of your…well you get the idea!

So now you’re ready to get married but are feeling overwhelmed by all of the decisions you have to make, and by how much you’re able to spend on this one special day. I’m here to make one of those decisions a whole lot easier for you! Florals are ubiquitous for weddings, and so it’s no surprise that they are front and center in couple’s minds when beginning to plan.

When it comes to budget, every couple is different and has different priorities. Some folks focus on photography, some want a killer video so that they can relive their day for decades to come, some want a raucous party, or killer food, or some people (my favorite kinds) want florals to heighten every part of their big day. To turn a ceremony into an ethereal experience, or to take a reception to that next level of a once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable party. Below you will find a few breakdowns in budgets and guest counts so that you can find the right balance between budget and floral impact.

But first, a quick word on Wedding Floristry. Contrary to popular belief, wedding florists do not charge more for wedding flowers just because it’s a wedding. There are so many elements that go into creating flower magic for your big day. Creating custom proposals, communicating with clients, checking and double checking every detail, sourcing the perfect vessels and candles, brainstorming unforgettable arch installations, writing floral arrangement recipes, assembling a dream team, years of training and experience—this is all before we purchase flowers, create arrangements + elements the week of your event, and execute the vision on your Wedding Day!

Elopement Budgets
$50 - $2500+

Because elopements are typically just the happy couple, an officiant, and a witness or two, budgets can really run the gamut. If you’re wanting just flowers for you and your honey, plan on spending around $20 for each boutonniere, and between $210-$350 on each bridal bouquet. If you’d like an altar piece, plan on spending between $400 for simple arrangements and $1700+ for a full arch.

Micro-Weddings
$2000 - $6000+

If you are inviting 10 of your most-loved people, about $2000 will cover your personal flowers (boutonnieres + bouquets for the couple), a meadowy ceremony ground altar, and centerpieces for an intimate dinner.

Say 25 of your nearest and dearest want to share your day. If you have roughly $3000, you can have personal flowers, a ceremony arch full of wild textures, and super chic centerpieces.

With a guest list of 50 people and around $3800, your personal flowers will set the stage, the ceremony arch will be covered with lush florals and textures, and the reception tables will have beautiful and whimsical floral centerpieces.

If you want florals to make a huge impact and are considering a ceremony aisle covered in floral meadows or would like your reception to feel like it’s in the middle of a lush secret garden, plan on adding anywhere from $600-$3500+ depending on the scope.

Classic-Sized Wedding
$5000 - $20,000+

A classic wedding with 100 guests that includes personal flowers (boutonnieres + bouquets for the couple + a small wedding party), a lush ceremony arch, intimate cocktail hour, and understated reception florals would start at around $5000.

The most common guest count for weddings is around 150—if this is you, plan on budgeting at least $8000 if you’d like to have ceremony altar florals, personal flowers, an understated cocktail hour, and classic reception centerpieces.

If you love a big, wonderful bash and couldn’t dream of anything less than 200 people sharing your big day, $10,000 is a good starting point for ceremony altar florals, personals like a few bouquets and boutonnieres, cocktail flowers, and classic reception centerpieces.

Adding aisle flowers and detail moments like cake florals, welcome sign, and an escort table would add a minimum of $1500. For a lavish, unforgettable wedding covered in the lushest floral installations, plan on budgeting an extra $3000 – $10,000+.

Of course, these numbers are just guidelines. Every wedding--and every couple is unique, and therefore comes with unique wants, needs, visions, and requirements. That’s one of the reasons I love being a wedding florist—I get to create one of a kind, magical events for every client! If you’re ready to start dreaming up your special day, I’d love to chat!
